El retraso del estreno de la nueva temporada de ‘Juego De Tronos’ ha dejado los Emmy con una paisaje curioso: la de la ausencia de la serie entre los nominados de este año, después de copar con sus últimas temporadas el tablero de los más prestigiosos galardones a la televisión americana. En ausencia de dragones, las candidaturas a los Emmy 2017 se han llenado de distopías, monstruos y peleas de gatas.
Y es que otro drama de HBO, ‘Westworld’, se ha alzado como gran vencedora de los nominados de 2017, consiguiendo nada menos que 22 candidaturas, entre las que figuran nominaciones a sus actores, y por supuesto, la de Mejor Drama. Curioso, teniendo en cuenta que la ficción ha obtenido críticas mixtas, entre los que la cosideran una obra maestra y aquellos que han visto lastrado su argumento por un ritmo bastante aburrido. Igual le ha ocurrido a Anthony Hopkins, con su discutida actuación en la ficción, que sin embargo, también ha conseguido rascar una nominación.
Además de la serie del oeste, ‘Stranger Things’ y ‘Feud’ también se han abierto paso este año, con 18 nominaciones cada una. Esta última compite en la categoría de miniserie, puesto que la ficción de Ryan Murphy tendrá temporadas diferenciadas entre sí, igual que todos sus últimos proyectos. Curiosa será la batalla, por cierto, de Jessica Lange y Susan Sarandon por hacerse con el galardón a Mejor Actriz en esta categoría.
Por lo demás, mucho hueco para ‘The Crown’, ‘Better Call Saul’, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ o ‘This Is Us’, que competirán por otros tantos premios el próximo 17 de septiembre. Ojo: de las 14 series nominadas a las dos categorías principales, 6 son ya de plataformas de streaming, y apenas 3 se emiten en cadenas generalistas.
